Omega Crashes Frequently

Post by Golfslicer »

If I am renaming files and have opened the file to play it and I right click to rename, Omega Pauses like it can't read the file then Crashes and sometimes it crashes if I have already closed the file from the open program. This never happens in the built in Windows 10 File Manager.

To help us with troubleshooting, could you please provide more details:
- what file type or types cause the crash? Presumably these are some media files.
- which application plays the file?
- do you have other applications installed, which have added their own items into the context menu? What are the applications?

Happens to me as well, if I right click on jpg and open with it works, but if I select another jpg to open with it crashes. Reinstall, no help.

FYI: I uninstalled Faststone image viewer and it is not crashing now.! Cross my fingers.
It also crashes with XnView installed and Zoner, it appears to crash on any photo view program other than Gimp, Paint, Photos.

I reinstalled xnview mp and disable integration and now it seems to be working without omega crashes!

Are all the viewers 64-bit applications? (assuming your Windows is 64 bit).
When exactly crashing is/was happening?
- On right click before context menu opening
- On clicking "Rename" in the context menu
- Only after renaming another image file

Do you open viewer applications with "Open with..." context menu?

Please confirm or provide more details about the system or sequence for us to reproduce, if possible.
